This role sits in the Employee Engagement team within Corporate Communications.
As the organization continues its transformation, we are looking for a strong communicator who can create and produce compelling content in support of its HR strategy, including talent development and change management communications. Attracting and developing world-class talent, building motivational leaders, and creating an open & trusting work environment are all our top priorities. And the Senior Manager of HR Communications will play a central role in telling this story. The right candidate for this role is creative, innovative and consultative – someone who can write and produce multimedia content that engages audiences, internal and external, across a variety of channels. He/she understands that to reach today’s busy employees, the content has to be candid and compelling and it has to have the right strategic context. He/she can direct creative teams to develop internal video, print and multi-media campaigns; and write internal e-mails, town hall presentations, speeches and intranet stories.
The Senior Manager of HR Communications will propose, write, produce and distribute internal communications for topics ranging from talent development and leadership capabilities to performance management and diversity & inclusion. This individual will be a great writer and a team player, someone who can consult with communications colleagues and stakeholders in business and functions alike on appropriate media, communication methods, and key messages to best reach target audiences.
Provide communications strategy and counsel to senior leaders, and execute on that strategy.
Simplify complex ideas and strategies from business partners with an understanding of how to make them relevant to employees.
Engage and direct leaders so they play an active role in the communication process.
Develop concepts, write copy and direct creative to tell stories in an engaging manner.
Work effectively through shared processes with others at all levels within the team and the organization
Effectively manage and deliver communication through a variety of channels, digital and real
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Key Responsibilities: (List top 5 or 6 specific responsibilities which are core to success in this role in the first 12-18 months. This can include P&L, operational, managerial and global scope, strategy creation and execution, innovation, customer centricity, internal/external partnerships, ROI, talent/team focus.)
Supports the development of strategies and execution of tactics that underpin not only broad HR communications, but also specific initiatives such as change management and talent development.
Advises on content design and/or generates content, working with HR managers to effectively disseminate the content across a variety of channels ( face-to-face engagement, digital touchpoints, etc.).
Provide copy editing and messaging support as needed.
Maintain collaborative relationships with appropriate levels of the HR organization.
Activation support (such as intranet page design and implementation) where required.
Explore innovations in content design and delivery that maximize employee awareness and understanding of content, and engagement..
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field
Five (5) or more years working in corporate communications
Background in related areas of knowledge such as behavioral psychology, sports psychology, change management, innovation management, etc. is a definite advantage.
Excellent writing and editing skills
Strong analytical and organization skills
Adept at complex stakeholder management
Accurate, detail-oriented self-starter and quick learner, with ability to take direction from multiple sources and prioritize effectively; must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish and meet deadlines
Native Japanese with high level of English reading, writing and speaking ability.
